They’re missing the little ring to hold the rubber washers in place, which makes installation a little awkward. Otherwise they work fine.

Fits GE size 40 whole house water filters. Nice construction. Filters down to .002 inches while GE filter does .00125 inches which in reality is pidly! The stuff it does filter out would ruin my soft water softener prematurely…and that thing cost me a lot of money!

I typically used a 30 micron filter, but had a plumber suggest trying a 5 micron, to eliminate some of the sand that was getting into the washing machine. But he warned that I might see a reduction in water flow, due to the tighter filter mesh. To this point, I haven’t noticed any water flow changes, and it’s too soon to tell if it takes care of the sand in the washer. Fingers crossed though.
