I purchased this water filter and always thought it was never securely tight. After reading the reviews, my thoughts were correct. Even though my model number was listed (LMXS28626S), this filter did not fit. Too bad for me because I purchased them proactively, to be ready for replacement. By the time I needed to replace, it was outside of return date. Lesson learned, moving on.

Easy to install. I did shut water off to house and bled line to reduce pressure. Installed quickly. So far it works great. My husband hasn’t complained about the taste ( we did run three gallons water and couple trays of ice out before using) great buy for the money.

Despite the information on the site that they fitted my LG refrigerator they did not – BUT – I found the solution that others might find helpful and get their aftermarket filter fitted to their LG refrigerator….
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
The center hole of the filter has two small internal tabs in the bore of the hole – these tabs prevent the filter from being rotated clockwise into the filter housing to lock the filter in – using a sharp narrow blade pocket knife carefully remove the two tabs at least down 3/16″ from the top of the hole, stop regularly and shake out/remove the cut plastic pieces so they do not drop into the filter body. Once the tabs are cut out – the filter will install easily and rotate clockwise properly to lock the filter in place in the filter housing – works great and had no leaks.

This is the third time that I bought these water filters on Amazon. The first two times all went well. This time I installed it and ran water to clear the system as directed. When I opened the refrigerator, water poured out. When I investigated, I saw that the new filter had a piece of plastic blocking the opening and keeping the filter from seating properly. Maybe I was just unlucky in getting faulty filters.
