I was a bit hesitant to replace my Genuine Bosch filter (BORPLFTR50) in my fridge, but it helps when it’s offered for free through the Vine program 🙂
Just installed – installation was a breeze. The hardest part is draining 5G of water, which takes forever. I think I actually only drained 2.5ish. It seems to take about 1-1.5 before the air is out of the system and it stops sputtering and leaking. Don’t forget to do your ice too and throw away everything after 24 hours.
Taste seems just fine, I can’t tell the difference between this and manufacturer brand. There are some horror stories online about using OEM filters, so fingers crossed 🙂
Great product, highly recommend!!

Just make sure you get it all the way in and turn it completely, or it WILL come blasting its way back out! 🙂

I like to change my refrigerator water filter every 6-8 months, so it is nice to have a three pack so I can change it as soon as the “filter” light comes on.
I am not going to go through the procedure, since you will want to check the manual for your particular appliance, but once you access the filter, and shut the water off, you just twist the filter counter-clockwise to remove and then twist the new one clockwise until it clicks to seat it. You will want to run the water dispenser for several seconds to refill the new filter.
One thing I like to do with the old filter is drain as much water as possible out of it into the sink (hold it upside down and shake it for several seconds) so that water isn’t trapped for years in the filter as it sits in a landfill somewhere.
